Year Round Staff

Camp Director: Dave Burfeind

Dave BurfeindAbout Me: Hey, Im Dave, I have been the Director at Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center for 15 years. I love to see the positive changes in the campers and guests who visit Lazy F and the improvements in the facilities and grounds through the years.  I grew up in Minnesota and is an avid fan of all sports teams from that area and waiting for that elusive Viking Super Bowl victory. I am married to Heather and we have two wonderful teenage kids.  I am also known as the RingMaster !

Super Power: I have the power to control activities around the camp (sometimes like a three ring circus)

Summer Staff of 2011

Activities Coordinator: Nimbus

ErinAbout Me: My name is Nimbus 2000, but all my friends call me Nimbus for short. I grew up in Olympia, WA but am currently going to school in Evansville, IN to study music therapy. This will be my second summer at Lazy F as the Activities Coordinator, but it will be my 10th summer as either a camper/volunteer/staff member! Something cool about me is that I'm naturally a really good cookie baker, thanks to my mom and grandma.

Super Power: My superhero power is (of course) my ability to fly!

Camp Counselors (Their 'Real' Names)

StarWalker

StarwalkerAbout Me and Super Power: Beyond lightning clouds and thunder storms, snow falls and the most unforgiving winds, over the highest mountain tops and through dense electromagnetic fields, the story of a young StarWalker has only just begun. Spawned from the depths of the Mighty Mississippi River, his path has led him to lands both far and wide and into the hearts of many, leaving only the beautifully ameliorated in his trail. Born with superhuman equilibrium and the most potent of curiosities, through poise and beautiful noise the young lad endures daily struggles and triumphs in his never ending quest for truth, love, and a better understanding.  Beside the state of a personal balance between mind body and soul, this gift has given him the ability to achieve stability, communication, and a magnanimous credence with both fauna and flora of the entire world. With his trusted companion SwissLove, an intergalactic explorer sent to earth for reasons unknown and taken form as canis lupus familiaris, the planets most tried-and-true of species, the two are inseparable in the perpetual expedition of life. The next step in their world’s perambulation?  Camp Lazy-F, to learn and inspire just what extraordinary accomplishments the young people of today are capable of, and to spread an awareness of the true beauty that is the gift of life we have each so graciously been given.

Breevie

NicoAbout Me: My name is Breevie, I come from Kent in England. I am currently a 3rd year student at Coventry University, studying dietetics to be a dietitian  I am one of 4 children and love being part of a big Christian family. The family home is always mayhem but I miss it when I am at university or away for periods of time. I love being busy, particularly in sporting activities- swimming, running and yoga, are all part of my daily routine!  Two years ago, I snorkelled with baby sharks (with surprisingly big teeth!) in South Africa...and am still alive to tell the tale today!  I am very excited about this year’s Lazy F Camp! It will be a great time to make new friends and learn about our awesome God together!

Super Power: I have the super power of being able to tell you exactly how many kcals (Calories) you have eaten in a day!!

Bestie

HopeAbout Me: Hi!! My name is Bestie and I love Lazy F for the energy it brings to everyone who comes to it. I am from Whidbey Island and I study kinesiology at Western Washington University. I hope to one day be a Physical Therapist and work at a Children's Hospital. I love to be outside, play soccer, rock climb, well do basically any kind of outdoor activity. I ride on the Western Washington University Equestrian Team when I am at school and love to snowboard in the winter. I am super excited for my second summer working at Lazy F!

Super Power: I am super power of being good at any sport that involves a board

Forrest

JaimeAbout Me: Hi there!!! My name is “Forrest”. I’m 22 and I come from Colombia. I like to express myself and help others to do it by dancing with the rhythm of salsa and many others types of music, share my experience of faith in order to build Christian community and support others to discover their capacities and skills to have tons and tons on fun!!!! I hope you can come and discover that being part of Lazy F can change your life so as it changed mine… I encourage you to come and *Be a hero living like Jesus!*

Super Power: Being part of the Lazy F family helps me to find out all of my super hero powers!

Moonie

KristenAbout Me: Hey Campers! My name is Moonie, I am from Douglas Wyoming, I will be a senior at Central Washington University I am studying Communication with a minor in Women’s Studies, and Foreign Language. I love God, being (active) outside, playing guitar, drawing (and other art activities), reading and sports! I grew up going to camp, I loved being able to get out of town and getting closer to God, the games that we played, the campfires, hiking, climbing, sleeping in cabins, and making new friends! I think that camp is a time to grow closer to God and to make new friends.

Super Power: If I had a super power it would be the ability to shoot warm chocolate chip cookies out of my hands, very similar to Spiderman’s web, but tastier!

Hobbes

NicoAbout Me: Outdoor ministry is a great passion of mine because it combines two of the three things I love most: the outdoors and helping others grow in faith (the third thing is ice cream).  I grew up going to Lazy F (this is about my 15th summer) and am so excited to meet our campers this summer and have even more awesome and amazing experiences with you all!  When I’m not at camp (or studying hard at the University of Puget Sound – Go Loggers!) I’m usually off in the woods somewhere running, rock climbing, biking, backpacking, or kayaking (which you don’t actually do in the woods, but near them).  If I ever grow up I’d like to own a house that is built for tall people, has its own zip line, and a pool I can fill with ice cream - or just a big freezer.

Super Power: My super powers include the ability to eat large amounts of ice cream in a single sitting, fire breathing, and the faith to get me through the bumps, twists, and bends in this great adventure called life.

Quirky

Pam MurphyAbout Me: Hey ya'll! My name is Quirky and I'm super excited to be hanging out with you guys this summer! They call me Quirky because I'm...well...quirky ;) I quite like doing various artsy things so if you're feeling crafty I'm your girl. You'll also find me at the rock wall and on the challenge course. This will be my second summer at Lazy F and I can't wait to see all the campers I had last summer and meet new campers.

Super Power: Ability to change traffic lights and ability to eat sweets (especially chocolate)

Flamingo

TemisAbout Me: I'm 22 years old, this is my third summer at Lazy F, I came on 2008 and I felt in love with camp :) I'm a Marketing student and this is my senior year. I play volleyball player since I was a child, I enjoy team and outdoor activities. My favorite camps are Tee pee Camp and Operation Purple. Some people say that talent is matter of luck I say luck is matter of talent ;)

Super Power: Big muscle of patience, fluent in "Mexican" and Night Owl person.

Chipper

RachaelAbout Me: Hi campers! My name is Chipper and I am a student at Western Washington University.  Whenever I have free time, you might find me coloring, doodling, gluing or taping a project together because I love making art!  I also love animals including deer, raccoons and ducks and I often go out of my way to find them. Someday I hope to be a Speech Pathologist where I can tend to children who have trouble speaking.  On another note, I am incredibly looking forward to this summer and see how much fun we all can have at Lazy F!

Super Power: My superpower is coaxing wild animals toward me- but I only use my power for good of course!
