Over the last few years the Night Owl summer camp has become one of our biggest and most popular sessions for those rising into the grades between 8th and 10th. Why is our biggest and most popular session? I'm afraid that's something better explained by your youth.
The basics of the session read like this... You start with an awesome Lazy F summer camp session of 8th -10th graders, then you start turning the arms on the clock. Each night everyone stays up later and later, each morning sleeps in longer and longer, and eventually everyone's internal clock is reversed. Sounds like a good idea to you? - Me neither, but for those younger than us - there is something to it. Maybe it has to do with the group challenge of staying up together. Maybe it has to do with the added challenge of doing activities in the dark instead of when it's easy to see. Maybe it has nothing to do with staying up and the Lazy F experience is enough. Or maybe we're too old to figure it out. Regardless it's an great chance for campers to come together and bond in friendships and faith.
